Climate Action in the Mediterranean – Union for the Mediterranean – UfM

2 November 2021, 14h. The Mediterranean Basin is warming faster than the global average with subsequent impacts on agriculture, public health, ecosystems, tourism, water resources as well as humanitarian and security issues. Joint action, based on science, is urgently needed.
This UfM side-event at the COP26 in Glasgow will see the presentation of two examples in the Mediterranean: The Cyprus Climate Change Initiative, an inclusive international proposal to coordinate the efforts of EMME region to ameliorate climate change and its impacts; Innovative climate funding strategies modeled by the Clima-Med project.
