Presentation of the European Green Deal

Ursula Von der Leyen, President of the EC, presented the European Green Deal on 11th December 2019.
The Green Deal aims at “fighting climate change, protecting nature, making our economy sustainable and leave nobody behind.
Because if this is not a social Green Deal, it will not be a successful Green Deal.”
said Frans Timmerman, executive Vice-President for the European Green Deal.
The objective is to make Europe “the first climate neutral continent in the World by 2050” claimed Ursula Von der Layen. It includes a series of measures together with key policies to put words into action, 50 actions in total.
prioritise energy efficiency and develop a power sector based largely on renewable sources;
fully integrated, interconnected and digitalised EU energy market.
